Global head of technology for the investment bank division of Banco Santander. Responsible for the definition and execution of our technology plans, for ensuring the right levels of service, availability and resilience of our systems and for the transformation of the organization that supports them. All Santander units in scope.

I was responsible for the IT and operations carve out of Santander's securities activity into the new entity Santander Securities Services, entailing our activities in Spain, Mexico and Brasil. During this time, we had to face the significant challenge of adapting to the European securities market reform. We also transformed the ways of working of our operations team by adopting lean practices across all the different service units.

Globally responsible for the international and domestic Supply Chain Finance products, developing the global product strategy, defining the investment plans in each market and executing the global commercial plan in order to ensure Santander’s position as a global leader in these products and achieve a double digit growth over a +200M€ business.

Responsible for international trade finance products in Europe and domestic supply chain finance in Spain, within the framework of the Trade, Export & Commodity Finance project of the group: design and execution of product and commercial plans in Continental Europe.

Responsible for establishing the business plans of Santander’s core markets in the Latin-American region. Definition of product development plans in each market.

Both for the Global Banking & Markets division and for its Global Transaction Banking area: development of strategic plans, design of new organisation and governance of the area, responsible for global business metrics project, deployment of new organisational model in Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico and Chile.

Responsible for the development of the global relationship model reporting system. Project manager for the public financial reporting tool of the group.

I started my professional career by co-founding a small development shop with some colleagues from college. I did very diverse things, like developing an early form of social network for teenagers, being an official trainer for Sun Microsystems, or developing quantitative models for operational risk. I cannot find a better way to kickstart my way into the professional world. A true life lesson.
